I have an earlier work of his and some of the pieces have fallen off and have been lost. Do you know if there is anyway to get this restored? I am an artist myself and while most of his work has excellent craftsmanship, some of his glued on pieces is less than well crafted.

jen....probably not going to get too much interest in an austin piece....they were massed produced based on a degroot design....it's not an actual, original degroot.....sorry, just my opinion

I picked up a DeGroot at a thrift shop in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Nautical scene with a boat, mountain, the sea and what looks like a mail box (?) in the foreground. It is signed & measures approx 25" x 25".

I just found this lath art image at a yard sale and I bought it. Can you tell me more about it?

Just wondering about the difference between an original Degroot and an Austin Production of a Degroot. Found a covered bridge lathart that has no labels or other indication that it is an Austin Production -- just the degroot signature wood-burned on the front. Compared mine to a photo of a similar one on the internet and the degroot signature on mine is in a different place. Is this significant or are they all Austin Productions regardless? Just wondering.

I obtained a piece of Lath Art with the signature "burned" into the wood De Groot. It is really a pretty piece. Could anyone give me any information about the artist and how much this piece is worth? I can upload a pic if someone could tell me how. OR I can email a pic to someone -- Just would appreciate knowing either about the artist or about the Lath Art piece or both! :) Thank you. Michele

I have a degroot lath painting of the farm barn scene with cows and partial fence. It has the burnt/branded signature. It has an Austin stamp on the back, but without a patent number. I've found the same pieces but all that I've seen have 2 cows and mine has 3. Also, the leaves on the forefront tree are green and the background trees on the hill are green, whereas the others I've seen were yellow. The wood used is rough texture, not sure if that is common. I would really appreciate any input or info anyone may have. I am also interested in possibly selling. You can email me if you like at lorioverturf1973@yahoo.com thanks
